In 5th hour Multimedia D/Webpage Design, I learned how to design a webpage using a program called Adobe

Dreamweaver. Our project for the quarter was to design this very webpage you are currently browsing.

Below is a simple step-by-step illustrating the basics of Dreamweaver and how I designed this webpage.

1.) First, open Adobe Dreamweaver and you will be brought to this page, choose "html" from "create new"

2.) Now, you will have a blank html file. There are two portions to the program: code and design. The code

portion is for entering specific commands to the program, telling it what to do in it's own language.

The design portion is for modifying the webpage without having to type in complicated commands in

code. Below the design portion, there is a properties box. The properties box is for editing the backround,

changing the font/properties of text, etc. You can do most of the webpage design using the design

portion, you will not need to use the code portion unless you choose to.

3.) To organize your webpage, you will use tables. To create a table, click "insert" in the top of the desktop,

then go to table, or press Ctrl+Alt+T. Tables are used for keeping information where you want it and it allows

you to organize information horizontally and vertically to make the page look how you want. You can put

a table inside of another table, inside of another table, inside of another table if you want to and you

can edit the number of rows/columns there are, and you can edit the size of each row/column.

That is a very basic tutorial to using Dreamweaver to get you started. If you play around with the

program for a while, you can pretty easily figure it out how to do mostly anything else you will need.
